The present web application service is suitable for someone who would like to file a trademark with JPO (Japan Patent Office), which has already been registered in a country other than Japan, and register it therein.

Background:

If you wish you register a trademark in Japan, you have to request Japanese patent attorney to take over filing it with JPO. This is because if you are a person domiciled or resident (or, in the case of a juridical person, with a business office) outside Japan, you have to undertake procedures through a Japanese patent attorney (Article 8, Japan Patent Law) as described above. Costs money of trademark registration management by a conventional Japanese patent attorney is very high because the attorney charges their service fee as full-service including a representation fee, a take over fee, a trademark research fee, a fee for studying Office Action(OA) from JPO, a fee for responding to OA and the like.

Problems:

However, if you have your trademark which has already been registered in a country other than Japan, there is a high possibility that this trademark is easily registered in Japan when you file a trademark application regarding it with JPO because this trademark and Goods and/or Services thereof have already been examined by the Patent Office of the country. In this case, such a trademark no longer need a part of the above services, for example, the trademark research service, the studying OA service, the responding to OA service and the like, while the conventional Japanese patent attorney charges their service fee as full-service.
